Marion Ivan Hunt Obituary Published in Jackson Citizen Patriot on May 1, 2011 M. Ivan Hunt, age 95, of Tipton, passed away April 28, 2011 at Lenawee Medical Care Facility. Ivan was born February 22, 1916 in Tecumseh, Michigan the son of Don and Marion (Dickinson) Hunt. He graduated from Tecumseh High School and Lenawee County Normal College. On June 13, 1937 he married Elilene Allen and they celebrated 50 years of marriage before her passing in 1987. Ivan taught in several one room schools before starting to work in Agricultural Sales with Farm Bureau in Saginaw. He was an entrepreneur, two of his projects were the Log Cabins on Evans Lake and building and operating Frontier City Amusement Park in the Irish Hills. A man of many interests he developed, manufactured and sold Versatile wood burning furnaces and boilers, was very active in the Antique Tractor and Engine Club on Forrester Road, past presidents of the Lenawee County Farm Bureau, and the Onsted Kiwanis and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. He enjoyed many family outings at the family property at Fife Lake, Michigan. The last year of his life he spent at the Lenawee Medical Care Facility, Killarney Hall where he received the love and outstanding care from residents and staff to which the family extends a special thank you. Ivan is survived by his sons, Leon Ivan (Carol) Hunt of Grass Lake and Allen (Virginia) Hunt of Onsted; grandchildren, Shelly (David) Allard of Leslie, Cory (Staci) Hunt of Napoleon, Aaron (Amy) Hunt of Tecumseh, Jason ( Teri Sue) Hunt of Onsted and Chris (Kyle) Hunt of Onsted; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Florence Miller of Tecumseh and second wife, Juanita Becker Hunt. In addition to his first wife, Elilene, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Corleone Hunt Claudy and Charlotte Wright. Visitation for Ivan will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Tecumseh. At Ivan's request, a private family graveside and interment of cremains will take place in Tipton Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Antique Tractor Club, Onsted Community School Educational Foundation or the Lenawee Medical Care Facility.
